A Home Built the Old Way

This log lodge was handcrafted in 2003 by master builder Tim Bullock, whose work has been commissioned for high-end private estates and architect-driven homes.

The structure was built using massive Canadian white pine and Norwegian pine logs, individually selected, hand-hewn, and assembled using traditional joinery techniques rarely seen today.

Every log was elevated and protected during construction — never dragged, never left in soil — preserving structural integrity and long-term durability. The home was designed to age gracefully, allowing for natural settling while maintaining alignment and strength.

Built to Be Taken Apart — and Rebuilt

From the outset, the home was constructed using a traditional log-by-log system that allows for precise dismantling and reassembly.

The logs were individually fitted, aligned, and documented during construction, with extensive photographic records preserved. Structural beams, floor systems, and roof framing were engineered to work independently of finish elements, simplifying future relocation.

A free-standing riverstone fireplace was intentionally built on its own foundation, allowing the log structure to settle naturally over time and enabling full removal of the log walls without interference.

The home was designed around generous, open spaces that feel substantial yet warm — equally suited for large gatherings and quiet personal retreat.

The porch structure and decking were built with the same attention to permanence as the home itself, using Brazilian walnut (Ipe) boards that were screwed in place — allowing for careful removal and reinstallation during relocation.

Inside, a substantial riverstone fireplace anchors the great room. Built from local stone on its own independent foundation, the fireplace was intentionally separated from the log walls to allow natural settling over time and to ensure the log structure can be dismantled without interference.
